Farren van Niekerk

Farren is a director at Irish MacLeod Inc and a distinguished entertainment attorney who advises on matters related to the development, production, financing and distribution of film and TV productions, as well as advertising, music and sports law. Farren has extensive experience working on a broad range of projects in the entertainment industry, in both local and international spheres, with clients including producers, financiers, distributors, studios and streaming service providers.

Farren obtained her Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and embarked on her legal career at one of South Africa's pioneering all-female law firms where she built her experience as a commercial litigation attorney. With her expertise and passion for law, Farren joined Irish MacLeod Inc in 2017, assisting clients with her extensive legal knowledge to provide comprehensive support to productions, offering a seamless blend of legal acumen and industry insight.

Farren’s background as a commercial litigation attorney, provides a unique perspective which enables her to offer holistic support throughout the production process, ensuring legal compliance and mitigating risks from inception to completion.

Since joining Irish MacLeod in 2017, Farren has been a trusted partner and provided legal counsel on a diverse array of local and international projects, most recently including Amazon Prime’s “Laugh Out Loud – South Africa” featuring Trevor Noah, Showmax’s “Boetie Boer”, Netflix’s “Heart of the Hunter” and Mnet’s "Recipes For Love and Murder."
